Studio Manifold | Gruyere Farm, Yarra Valley
Mark Tuckey was commissioned by the folks at Studio Manifold to manufacture a set of custom entry doors that form a sculptural centrepiece for this light-filled Yarra Valley residential project.

Crafted from solid American Oak and finished in a natural commercial-grade outdoor coating. The entry doors feature a hand-shaped concave profile on both sides, each door reflects a commitment to craftsmanship and material integrity. The solid timber, carefully selected and shaped by hand in our Thornbury workshop, balances modern construction techniques with traditional joinery principles. Originally specified with vertical nailing, the detailing was refined in close consultation with the builder to maintain the cleanest possible finish.
Custom handles sourced from a demolished building in the Netherlands were integrated seamlessly into the final design. This build was part of a broader collaboration with local designers and makers, where every element—from the sunken lounge to handcrafted lighting—was curated to anchor the home in its surroundings.
