PROJECT
NEWNEW Pavilion by Cultivated + Nexus Designs
Our team was responsible for the full fabrication of the NEWNEW installation. The structure was precision-built for flat-pack transport, enabling efficient assembly on-site, where it stood over three days at Green Design Show before being carefully disassembled—the modular design enables adaptable reuse for future projects.
'Everything in NEWNEW has a story to tell and a life yet to live. A temporary structure with a light footprint both literally and metaphorically, NEWNEW challenges you to consider how re-use, refurbishment and responsible decision making can be at the forefront of bespoke interior spaces.'
Commissioned by Nexus Designs and Cultivated —NEWNEW reveals the creative possibilities of design inspired by sustainable material selection and local craftsmanship.
Built by Mark Tuckey using timber supplied by Crafted Hardwoods and Oslek Flooring, highlighting Australian-made quality throughout.
A modular, temporary structure, NEWNEW embodies a low-impact construction model—highlighting how manufacturing processes can be optimised for reuse, and environmental responsibility.
As manufacturers, we partnered with a network of local makers, including textile designer Heather Thomas, who uses natural dyes from native Australian plants to create richly toned fabrics. The collaboration demonstrates how material selection and manufacturing methods can contribute to a sustainable design outcome.
NEWNEW was conceived as a structure that invites exploration—designed to unfold both physically and conceptually—demonstrating how adaptable manufacturing and material use can support a more sustainable, low-impact approach to temporary construction, offering a practical framework for innovation in design
