A YEAR IN REVIEW

Explore the best of 2025 | Projects, Partnerships and Events

Thank you to everyone who helped make 2025 one of our greatest years yet. It's hard to believe that after more than 30 years of crafting solid timber furniture for Australian homes, we're still evolving, still growing, and more inspired than ever.

As we look back on the past 12 months, we celebrate the partnerships, the bump-ins, and the product launches that shaped this unforgettable year - from large commercial jobs to beautiful residential installs, exhibition showcases and award-winning designs. We're proud to have seen our work featured across print publications and press, and to have formed meaningful connections with both established and emerging collaborators.

Cheers to the year that's been and from the entire Tuckey team, have a safe and happy holiday season - we look forward to welcoming you back in January 2026.

PROJECT | NEWNEW Pavillion

Our team delivered full fabrication of the NEWNEW installation, precision-built for flat-pack transport and efficient on-site assembly. Installed for three days at Green Design Show, it was then carefully disassembled, with a modular design allowing adaptable reuse. Commissioned by Nexus Designs and Cultivated, NEWNEW showcases sustainable material selection and local craftsmanship. Built by Mark Tuckey using timber from Crafted Hardwoods and Oslek Flooring, it highlights Australian-made quality throughout.

'Everything in NEWNEW has a story to tell and a life yet to live. A temporary structure with a light footprint both literally and metaphorically, NEWNEW challenges you to consider how re-use, refurbishment and responsible design can be at the forefront of bespoke interior spaces'.

COLLABORATION | Mark Tuckey x Main Studio

Imagine if all construction timbers in Australia were grown in a way that regenerated degraded farm soils, improved livestock health, provided biodiversity habitat for endangered species and shaped resilient, beautiful landscapes that stitched together bioregional communities. The Making Of Material explores this possibility through a collection of furniture pieces made from agroforestry timber, designed by Bronwen Mainin collaboration with Mark Tuckey and documentary short film by Grace Moore, that captures both process and philosophy.

EVENTS | MDW 2025 Design The World You Want

On Wednesday the 21st of May, Mark Tuckey and Main Studio partnered to exhibit The Making Of Material at the Mark Tuckey workshop in Thornbury.

This included a showcase of furniture pieces made from agroforestry timber, designed by Bronwen Main in collaboration with Mark Tuckey and screening of documentary short film directed by Grace Moore, that explored both process and philosophy. The evening concluded with a panel discussion with the designers, growers, and filmmaker.

In line with this year's Melbourne Design Week theme ' Design The World You Want' - The Making Of Material shines a light on the importance of agroforestry and its potential impact on the future of Australian design.

PRESS | FRAME Awards 2025

We’re thrilled to share that the Mark Tuckey x Cultivated Circular Retail Space, designed by Foolscap Studio, has been shortlisted in the Spatial category for the FRAME Awards 2025.

Selected among nearly a thousand global entries, our project was recognised for innovative circular design and collaboration, alongside brands such as, IKEA, Louis Vuitton, and New Balance.

A massive thank you to our incredible collaborators at Foolscapstudio , Cultivated and everyone involved in bringing this vision to life.

We’re proud to be part of spotlighting Australian manufacturing and conscious design to an international audience - shaping a future where local craftsmanship contributes meaningfully to the global conversation on considered design.

'All materials were selected for their low environmental impact, local provenance, and potential for reuse or regeneration. Natural VOC-free lime paint—sourced from the Western Australian landscape—was chosen for the walls, enhancing both indoor air quality and regional relevance. ArtBank was engaged to curate West Australian art, and local tradespeople were central to the build—strengthening the project’s connection to place while supporting the hyperlocal economy.'

Press | Green Magazine Issue 105

We’re proud to be featured in the latest issue of Green Magazine as part of a project that highlights a meaningful collaboration grounded in design, sustainable manufacturing and regenerative practice.

The Making of Material is an innovative project led by Mark Tuckey in collaboration with designer Bronwen Main of Main Studio using timber sourced from the Stewart family’s agroforestry farm in Victoria’s Otway Ranges.

Back in the 1980s, Andrew and Jill Stewart began restoring their degraded farmland with the help of agroforestry pioneer Rowan Reid. Over the decades, they’ve planted more than 50,000 trees, increasing vegetation cover from 3% to 18% - regenerating soil, restoring biodiversity, and creating a sustainable supply of commercial grade timber.

This project brought that timber into our workshop, where we handcrafted an exclusive three-piece furniture collection that was showcased alongside a short documentary by filmmaker Grace Moore during Melbourne Design Week 2025.
